We are looking for some serious,
versatile, dedicated, and open mided musicians (back up singers, horns, drummer/percussionists, lead guitarist) to play in a muti genre group called Gem Shadou. We are in the process of building the band that is fronted and founded by us, two 16 year old teen girls.
We have been going it alone as a duo for over 5 years with almost 100 gigs under our belts. Also we have earned several awards including a nomination back in 2023 for the Mississauga Music Award - Emerging Talent Of The Year.
We have either played with instruments or by track but after the few times we got to front and perform with a band, we made the decision to have our own group for live performances.
You will be playing original material and cover songs for this multi genre group. It's is very important to us that if you become a member you must be comfortable performing with and taking instructions from us, 2 female band leaders who will be younger than you.
Professionalism is key. Despite our age, we are very dedicated and professional, and we are looking for the same. Please no egos. And just to say again, being open minded is very important.
Gem Shadou is not limited to just one genre of music. We are influenced by, rock (modern and classic), reggae, soca, pop, r&b, blues, kpop, and hip hop.
