Vintage Mid Century Very Early Fire-King Clear Glass Round Baking Dish:

The base of this piece is embossed:

T.M. REG. FIRE-KING 5 MADE IN U.S.A. 2 QT.

I understand that these pieces with all-block letters are the earliest Fire-King, made between 1945 and 1948.

It has a double-scalloped handle with a bead.

The opening is 8” diameter. The overall dimensions across the handles are about 10” x 3” high.

There is a ring of heavy vintage wear where the base exterior meets the surface of what the dish is set on, and a couple of swirls on the interior of the base. It looks like something got baked on decades ago. There are also the wavy lines that occasionally appeared as manufacturing defects in the flat bottoms of these baking dishes.

There are no chips or cracks.

Ours is a smoke-free home.
